Scanning

Our practice uses the Dentsply Sirona CEREC Primescan, an intraoral scanner and chairside CAD/CAM system that lets us design and mill a custom ceramic crown in a single visit, without sending an impression to an outside lab or having you come back weeks later.

Primescan captures a full digital impression of your mouth in a few minutes, in full color and without the messy impression material used in traditional dentistry. It picks up fine detail even on reflective surfaces like metal restorations, which helps ensure an accurate fit. Throughout the scan, we can show you the 3D image on-screen in real time so you understand the treatment plan before any work begins.

Milling & Firing

Once the scan is complete, we design your restoration digitally and mill it on-site with the CEREC Primemill, which mills a zirconia crown in about 5 minutes using its fast milling mode, with extra-fine settings for precise margins and detail. We then sinter and glaze it in the CEREC SpeedFire furnace, typically in around 14 minutes, before fitting it the same day.

This workflow lets us produce crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers, and bridges, so it covers most restorations that would otherwise mean a trip to an outside lab. It's especially useful if you need a crown after a fractured tooth, a large filling, or a root canal, and we use the same process for implant-supported crowns.

Choosing the Right Material

We work with dozens of certified ceramic blocks, so we can choose the material that best fits your tooth and your bite. Some, like Celtra Duo and Tessera, are formulated for a natural, lifelike translucency that blends in well on front teeth, while zirconia-based materials are built for extra strength on back teeth that take the most force when you chew. Having options on hand means your restoration is matched to how that specific tooth is used, not a one-size-fits-all block.

Diode Dental Laser

Laser dentistry is a gentler, more accurate, and more comfortable approach. Because lasers cause less trauma to tissue than a scalpel, patients typically experience less post-operative pain and need less medication afterward.

Our practice uses the SiroLaser Advance Plus, a dual-wavelength diode laser. Its infrared diode is used for soft-tissue procedures, including gummy smile treatment, gum disease therapy, frenectomies, and biopsies, while a second red diode is used for photobiomodulation, a low-level light therapy that can help reduce inflammation and support healing in the treated area. With laser dentistry, there is often no need for stitches, and treated areas are sterilized as we go, which reduces the risk of infection afterward and lets the gums heal more easily.

Cone-Beam CT-Scanner (CBCT)

Digital imaging lets us see problems clearly before they become bigger, more complicated ones. Our practice uses the Dentsply Sirona Orthophos S, which combines panoramic X-ray with cone beam CT (CBCT) in one system, giving Dr. Levin a full three-dimensional view of the jaw, teeth, and surrounding tissue instead of a flat image where structures can overlap and hide detail.

This is especially valuable for implant planning, where seeing the exact bone volume and the position of nerves and sinuses ahead of time lets us plan the procedure around them rather than adjusting mid-surgery. It's also useful for bone grafting, tooth extractions, orthodontic planning, and evaluating dental trauma. A 3D scan can also reveal issues that don't show up on a flat X-ray, such as root fractures, hidden cysts, or extra canals, which are common causes of unexplained pain or a previously unsuccessful root canal.

3D Printed Night Guards & Retainers

Our night guards and retainers are made using a digital scan of your teeth, no physical impression required. Dr. Levin designs the appliance digitally and sends the file to our SprintRay Pro 2, a dental-specific 3D printer with 35-micron resolution, for fabrication.

For clear retainers specifically, this changes the traditional workflow. Instead of printing a model, heating plastic over it, and trimming it by hand, the retainer itself is printed directly in clear resin, ready to finish. That's one fewer step where fit can be lost, and the result is a precise fit based on your actual digital scan rather than a physical mold that can shift or distort during the process.

Once printed, we carefully inspect each appliance to ensure it's smooth and comfortable to wear. If a retainer or custom-fit mouthguard is ever lost or damaged, we can simply reprint it from your file rather than taking a new scan from scratch.

We use this process for night guards for bruxism, sports mouthguards, and retainers, as well as night guards for mild to moderate sleep apnea.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Dental anxiety is one of the most common reasons people put off treatment they need. For patients who feel nervous about a visit, have a strong gag reflex, or simply want to feel more relaxed during a longer procedure, we offer nitrous oxide sedation, sometimes known as laughing gas.

You wear a small mask over your nose throughout the procedure, breathing in a light, calming mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen while we work. It helps you relax without putting you to sleep, and you stay fully conscious and able to respond the whole time. Once treatment is finished and the mask comes off, the effects wear off within minutes, so you can safely drive yourself home afterward.

To make the experience a little more pleasant, especially for kids, we offer the mask in a variety of scented options, including peach, bubble gum, and strawberry.

We offer nitrous oxide to patients of all ages, from young children coming in for pediatric dental care to adults who simply want an easier visit.
